WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE from the time we walked in the door! Margaret greeted us with a huge smile and directed my husband and I to appropriate Mother of the Bride dresses after I gave her a quick synopsis of what I was looking for. She made some suggestions and I was off to the fitting room where she was available with her tremendous help. What a jewel salesperson and the rest of the staff are there with their suggestions regarding jewelry, shoes, purses, etc. but not unless you want it so they are not at all annoying by any means. One review here says she felt like Cinderella and that is the perfect description of the way they have you feeling at T Carolyn! I absolutely LOVE this store and can't wait to go back. We live in Clear Lake so it was a drive and, unfortunately, we left it for a last resort after checking out department stores, boutiques and The Galleria. I will never waste my time again looking for an elegant dress and/or gown again! I am heading straight to T Carolyn's and sending all my friends there as well! The prices are fantastic and they make the dresses affordable so if you need alterations, you can easily fit those into your budget as well as still buy shoes and accessories, if necessary. This was an absolutely fantastic experience and we can't thank Margaret and the other fine ladies at T Carolyn enough for their help and expertise. Margaret is the sweetest, sweetest lady I have ever had the pleasure of helping me with dress choices. Her eye for elegance is awesome! I'm so thankful there's a store like this in Houston! A must read before you buy from someone else online other than us.
Guardian Angels show up in the most unexpected places! Every Mother of the Bride needs one and I found mine at T. Carolyn Fashions when I met Barbara and Terrie, the owners. I had previously purchased my MOB dress from an online vendor. It appeared to be a perfect transaction including great customer service by a charming representative who answered all my 301 questions, ensured me that the dress would be perfect and said the shipment would be directly from the manufacturer. I placed the order with complete confidence. UPS delivered the package while I was out of town. The nightmare began when, returning home three days later, I tried on the dress. Right dress, right size on the label but when measured, the dress was much too small. The dress measurements DO NOT MATCH the manufacturer measurements for the dress. My immediate call to the seller has yet to be returned! Urgent trip to T. Carolyn Fashions, met Barbara and Terrie who were most helpful, sympathetic, dried my tears and explained that the manufacturer of this dress does not allow internet selling of their product unless an actual store exist. They measured my dress and said they have never seen a dress from this maker with the top being one size and the bottom being another. Terrie even contacted the maker to verify measurements and reported the problem with my dress. Bottom line, when that special dress needs to be perfect, DO NOT BUY via the INTERNET. Be safe, purchase your dress from a shop where you can try it on, look in the mirror, get up close and personal and have great customer service face to face. What small amount of money you save with internet shopping is not worth it. I now have two identical dresses, one fits perfectly! (The credit card bill will reflect my error in trying to save a buck). I purchased the second dress, which fits perfectly, from T. Carolyn Fashions and they even had the needed undergarments and beautiful jewerly to match. Every adjective for PERFECT can be used to describe shopping at T. Carolyn Fashions! If you can't find the perfect dress at T. Carolyn Fashions, you do not need it. For a special occasion, or to just feel special, this is "one stop shopping" at its finest! Thank you Barbara and Terrie for the dried tears, hugs, boost in my confidence and for establishing a LOCAL shop with the merchandise and staff to make each of us feel like Cinderella.
Barbara, I enjoyed visiting with you and Margaret yesterday. Both of you were very helpful and honest and did not say I needed to buy another gown. I came in with a gown I had purchased 13 years ago from T. Carolyn. I thought it still looked great and I can still fit in it. I chose this gown to wear to our daughter's wedding 13 years ago. It is a simple but elegant, classy gown.
You didn't try to sell me another gown. Thanks for being honest enough to tell me I certainly could wear it again and look good in it.

Awesome mother of the bride store. My mom got her dress here for her wedding, and so did my now mother-in-law. The ladies here are fabulous. They really know what they're doing. My mom found a fabulous dress that made her feel fabulous. She had looked at other places and just ended up getting frustrated. She should have come here first. Of course, some dresses seem a bit expensive, but I wouldn't let that deter you. My mom found a dress that worked for her and her budget. You just can't beat the service here!

My son's, Long Island wedding was absolutely wonderful and a special thank you goes to your fabulous store for dressing me in what I would call "my best." On the day I walked into T.Carolyn's this March, I met Lena who graciously led me to some great dresses in your store. Wouldn't you know that the very first dress she showed me ended up being the dress I purchased? I remember Lena telling me that this was the dress for my skin tone, hair color, and body shape. At first I thought it was a little too fancy; however, after trying on many other dresses, I kept coming back to Lena's choice. My husband Jeff met me at the store on his lunch hour two weeks later and I modeled several different dresses for him. This was clearly his first choice as well as mine.
Our reception was held at The Hamlet Golf & Country Club in Commack, New York. There was lots of dancing all night long so I slipped off my bolero jacket and danced the night away. I received numerous compliments on my look, and I have to say that I truly owe it all to Lena and your store. You ladies really know your business. I was one of the first 13 women to attend A&M in the summer of 1963 so that gives you a good idea of how old I am. This past weekend I was having coffee with one of the other "13" and I told her about my wonderful shopping experience in T. Carolyn last Friday and all about you, Barbara Tibbetts. I relived my experience as I told her that the dresses are beautiful, quality items and, in my opinion, quite reasonable. I told her that in all my year of acquiring clothing I had never had the pleasure of being in such a shop. A shop where quality dresses - chosen and displayed to perfection - satisfies the shoppers' optical senses s soon as she walks through the door. A shop where one instantly feels special and where a woman who dares to be over a size 4 and under 6 feet is transformed into a thing of beauty and is treated with utmost respect.
I became ill several years ago after my husband deserted me and went from 118 lbs to over 200 lbs in less than 5 months due to wrong medication. It was a horrible experience and has been a difficult adjustment but a blessing in the long run. However, the treatment of an overweight woman is deplorable in most places and most particularly up-scale shops such as T.Carolyn. We are generally greeted with a look of disdain and pity. I want to thank you for such a wonderful shopping experience, for your warmth, and for your attention to detail.

I just wanted to thank you for all of your help with the "mother of the bride" wedding gown. I have a difficult time finding a gown to fit my "twiggy" figure. This dress, a size 6, was altered to a size 2. It was perfect! Thanks so much.
Ironically, the groom's mother's dress was a T.Carolyn as well. Originally, I had seen this dress in a magazine, loved it, and was told by my daughter that her mother-in-law to be had her heart set on this dress. So I selected a different dress (it really did not matter to me).
I cannot believe how complimentary our gowns were to each other.
I have another daughter, I will be back!

Most of the guests thought that I had chosen my outfit to coordinate with the bride's dress.

Hola from Honduras! My dress arrived today. It fits, which I am so thankful for. I have a pair of ballet flats in the champagne color which I can wear with the dress on the beach and still walk, if the dress had been any longer at all I would need heels and they would never do in sand. Thank you for the great favor in finding me this dress, I really appreciate it. I wanted to thank you for helping me and to let you know that it is a blessing from the Lord because it is hard to get the right dress even when you can try them on in the store!
